VOLUNTEERS
As a not-for-profit organisation, Dontgetlost Adventure Running relies on volunteers for all of it's programming and races.

WE NEED YOU! For every race and program, we have a range of roles - from things anyone can handle to specialised roles in course planning.
Adventure Running Kids (ARK)
ARK runs for 10 weeks in the Spring and Fall in in need of volunteers in all locations; Hamilton, KW, Niagara, Burlington and Oakville

Parents
Are you planning on signing your kids up and looking to help out during that hour? We'd love to have you.
Parent volunteers recieve a 25% discount on registration and priority registration to hours that may be sold out!

We ask that people who volunteer will be able to attend at least 80% of ARK sessions for the season. Volunteers who miss significantly more than this will have the full fee of the program charged to their credit card.

High School Kids
Looking for your volunteer hours, we'd love to have you. Most of our program locations need a vehicle to reach, check out our locations and schedule page here. If you can make the locations at the time the program runs, we'd love to have you.

ARK Volunteer Roles
There are two main roles in the program; Group Leaders and Station Coach

Group Leaders
Group Leaders are the backbone of our Adventure Running Kids training evenings. We assign 2-4 group leaders to every group (15 kids max). Group Leaders are responsible of keeping track of the kids, making sure the group stays together as needed and sometimes assisting in the running in some of the exercises.
People with all levels of fitness can act as Group Leaders! We need people who can keep up with the fastest kids, but also muster the tail end.

Station Coach
The second role for ARK is Station Coach. Adventure Running Kids is run from a planned curriculum, so at its most basic level, the coach’s role is straightforward:
· Deliver exercise to one or 2 different ARK groups over the course of the hour(s)
· Pack up exercise and return equipment to check in area at the end if that is the final use of the station that day.

All the exercises are set up beforehand by the Program Manager and the curriculum will be emailed out beforehand. For more information and example of program curriculum, check out our Station Coach role infomation document and check out a couple of videos of ARK exercises in progress at the very bottom of our ARK main page.
Races
All of our races require some kind of volunteer manpower:
-
Registration
-
Aid Stations
-
