HAMLOPPET
DECEMBER 19, 2024
HAMILTON, ON

Our traditional end of year run, aka the Hamloppet.
A number of checkpoints are scattered throughout the local streets and participants have to visit them in order prescribed. The checkpoints are not the traditional flags but holiday decorations set up by the local residents, thus the wording visit as opposed to find. What makes the Hamloppet unique is that runners must guess their own time, i.e. how long they think it will take to visit all the checkpoints that they have planned out. Obviously watches are not allowed! Whoever is closest to their predicted time wins the Trophy.

START LOCATION
Churchill Park Clubhouse
167 Cline Ave N, Hamilton, ON L8S 4C1

ENTRY FEES
$15 per person. HST and online registration fee are included.
All proceeds donated to Food4Kids Hamilton.
Additional donations to Food4Kids are welcome and may be added to the online registration fee.

Some events have a mass start. This year, the Hamloppet will not have a mass start but a mass finish. Ideally, everyone will arrive at the finish at almost the same time.
There will be a countdown clock at registration, which indicates the time remaining before this mass finish. If you believe you will need 27 minutes to visit your planned locations, you start when the clock indicates 27 minutes remaining. You must arrive before the clock reads zero, or you become a Grinch, and Grinchs get a minute added to their time.
Whoever arrives closest to the cut-off wins the fabulous prize and a very special honour.
