Choose from one of two race formats:
Knockout Adventure Run: A 2-hour choose-your-adventure run format. Visit as many checkpoints as possible in two hours. Checkpoints are scored based on difficulty: Green (easy), blue (intermediate), black diamond (difficult) and double black diamond (expert).
Knockout O-Cup: Don't Get Lost and Don't Get Knocked Out". A three-stage "knock-out" adventure run format.
Each stage has 10-12 checkpoints including a section of 7 checkpoints (we call it a box) which participants may visit in any order. Participants have the option to skip checkpoints in the box equal to their handicap points (see below for details).
Everyone who doesn't finish within 10 minutes of the leader on Stage 1 and 5 minutes of the leader in Stage 2 is knocked out.
If you are "knocked out" from the race in either of the first or second stages you can still complete in the remaining stages but you will not be ranked in the top 20/10 (depending when you were eliminated).
Participants have the option to skip checkpoints in the box equal to their handicap points (see below for details). The Knockout O-Cup is the final race in the 2020 Orienteering Ontario O-Cup Series.
The O-Cup time limit is 2 hours. Race distance is 5-9km based on your handicap.
